The Kitchen Committee will need help with the preparation of the chicken on Saturday, July 10th early in the morning while still cool.

Picnic Work List needs to be given to Jeannine by Mid July.

This is It                                    Galatians 2:20

I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me:  insomuch as I now live in the flesh,

I live by faith in the Son of God who has loves and given himself up for me.

If you were looking for a Bible verse that sums up Christianity in a sentence, you have it here.  The Jesus who loved me so much that he gave his life to save mine lives in the depths of my being.  Now he, not me, is the center of my life.  My life comes to me as a gift of God as I live it in union with Jesus living in me.  That is the awesome reality.  To discover it for oneself is what Christianity is all about.

Perhaps you are acquainted with the “Jesus Prayer.”  It is short and simple:  “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”  Many Christians pray it repeatedly throughout the day.  To a young monk who asked how he could be transfigured by Christ, an older monk replied, “Go to your room and keep praying to the Jesus prayer from your heart.  The prayer will do the rest.”

I dare say the dame is true of Paul’s statement.  Go into your heart; keep pondering these words.  Jesus in you will do the rest.                                                   Kevin Perrota

All Men/ All Girls

When my daughter said her bedtime prayer she woul bless every family member, every friend, and every animal (current & past).  For several weeks, after we had finished the nightly prayer, she would say, “And all girls.”  This soon became a part of nightly routine, to include this closing.

My curiousity got the best of me and I asked her, “Why do you always add the part about the girls?

Her response, “Because everybody always finish their prayers by saying “all Men”!
