A Lot of Fish to Leave Behind
They left everything and followed him Luke 5:11
Peter had been following Jesus for a while before Jesus gave him a miraculous catch of fish, and Peter left everything to follow him. So, in a way, it was a second conversion for Peter. And perhaps that makes the incident a model for you and me of the possibility of our coming to a deeper conversion to Jesus.
If so, what’s the message? Hope Jesus will work a miracle before our eyes, too----and in the meantime just go on living as we’ve been living? That sounds a little too easy. Is the message that we should, right now, give up everything to follow Jesus? But where does he want us to go?
I suggest that Luke offers his account for reflection and prayer. Peter’s experience of Jesus spurns us to ask where we have experienced Jesus at work in our lives and in the lives of others. If I think quietly about that, do I hear Jesus saying something to me about where wants me to follow him.
And do I see a boatload of fish holding me back? Kevin Perrota

A Little boy was waiting for his mother to come out of the grocery store. As he waited, a man who asked, “Son, can you tell me where the Post Office is”, approached him? The little boy replied, “Sure! Just go straight down this street a coupla blocks and turn right.
The man thanked the boy kindly and said, “ I’m the new pastor in town.
I’d like for you to come to church on Sunday. I’ll show you how to get to Heaven.”
The little boy replied with a chuckle. “Awwww, come on……You don’t even know the way to the Post Office.
