God’s Anointed One

You are the Messiah, the son of God.     Matthew 16:16

Peter’s proclamation of faith in Jesus’ identity is lively and determined.  We can be fairly confident that the apostle Paul would echo these words of Peter.  How does Peter’s profession of faith speak to you today? “Messiah”  means the anointed one- one set apart.

You, too, are God’s anointed.  You can be anointed with holy oils, with words of grace, with a kind look, a smile of encouragement, a word from scripture, a sacramental moment, call from God.  You can walk through the fields and gardens and be anointed with the holiness of God’s creation.  When you receive God’s anointing then, in some small way, you too, become God’s creation.  When you receive god’s anointing then, in some small way, you too, become God’s anointed one.

On this special feast of two lovers of Jesus let us pray that we, too can recognize Jesus the Christ and live as one of God’s chosen one’s.  Let us open our hearts to receive the revelation that each of us is another Christ in our present-day world.

God Opens Doors

“When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go, only 1 of 2 things will happen, either He'll catch you when you fall, or He'll teach you how to fly!”

The power of one sentence! God is going to shift things around for you today and let things work in your favor.
